The Quilt from Hell

Tom has a new great niece and he asked me to make a quilt for her. No problem. I have been wanting to make a quilt I found on the internet that featured mainly white fabric (I'm liking white a lot). Super easy. No half squares, triangles or any odd shapes. Just squares.

I dug in my scrap bin and found a lot of different fabrics I could use and started cutting it out. I had problems from the very start! Even though I have been quilting for forever, it seemed I couldn't cut straight. So, my squares are uneven, my borders are a bit wavy, my quilting is slightly off and I had trouble with the binding. All in all, it turned out ok but it is certainly not one of my better attempts by a long shot.

This last shot shows my new way of attaching the binding. Not show quality by any means but definitely durable for lots of washings. I need a little more practice but the miters came out pretty good. One thing that went right.

It looks nice in your pictures. I like those colors with the white. Great idea. Remember it is never as bad as the stitcher thinks!
