Our monthly sewing group met on Saturday and our project was "present potholders/hotpads" taught by our leader, Lynn. We previously made placemats similar to these that were taught by Mary Manos several years ago so this was a slightly different take.
I struggled with getting my seams to match and had to start over for the top part of the gift box but I was pleased that I had no struggle at all with the nasty Y seam that joins the top of the box to the bottom. I DO NOT LIKE Y SEAMS and will do whatever it takes to avoid them but this time it worked out.
I didn't complete mine yet because I would like to applique the bow on the top rather than having a dimensional bow like everyone else. Seems to me, it would be more useful this way. Mine is the one in the top hand left corner made of green and blue fabric.
