Cut & Iron, Cut & Iron

For several hours Wednesday night, I was ironing and cutting six yards of Kona cotton for our charity quilt project. It is very difficult to iron six yards of fabric while at the same time, trying to keep as much dog hair off it as possible. Fortunately, it seems that either there is not much dog hair in my sewing room or I did a pretty good job with the ironing system I set up to prevent dog hair getting on the fabric.

I finally ended up with 72 9" blocks of fabric which will be given out to ASG members to embellish as they so desire in southwestern designs.

Driving to work today, I felt and heard this "whomp" as I was stopped at the traffic light. I looked behind me to see if someone had hit me but that was not the case. When the light changed, and I pulled into the intersection I saw that there was a car in flames and smoke billowing out of it. The woman driver had hopped out and ran to the gas station on the corner. I have no idea what happened but at least discovered the source of the "whomp."

M.I.A.

Have not posted recently because not too much to post about. Tonight, is our first Diamondbacks game and I'm kind of looking forward to it. We are playing the Dodgers so Luis Gonzalez should be playing and it will be nice to see him out there again.

I finished our first official book club book which was "Back When We Were Grownups". It was funny in parts but I think it was a slightly depressing read. It will be interesting to see what the other book club members think. Our next book is Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead". That is a monster so I need to get started soon but a friend lent me James Patterson's newest book so I will have to read that first.

Saturday was sewing and it was probably one of the most difficult projects yet because it required so much concentration to make sure you didn't screw up. This is not mine but this is how it should look when it's done. There is not much sewing involved at all. Hope to get mine completed by next week.
Friday night was bunco and it was a really fun one. It was my mom's turn to hostess and she did it all in a ladybugs theme and boy did she go to town on it. Even went so far as to have a ladybug shaped cake.

Sometimes you're the bug; sometimes you're the windshield

What a morning so far! I have not done one thing I planned to do. Instead I've been taking care of last minute rushes that are just ridiculous. Shouldn't complain. Work is work.

Really not too much to report or comment on. I have started a new quilt and hope to start a new bag. Not sure when I will have the time to do this because this weekend we are emptying out the garage cabinets to determine why they are separating from the wall. Hope it is an easy fix but I somehow doubt it will be.
