Ever wonder...
What happened to Michael Vick's dogs (may he rot in hell). I know some of them are at the Best Friend's Sanctuary and they are doing good by them. But here are photos of some of the ones who were adopted
Annie Leibovitz
What would it be like for a professional photographer to take the photo of Annie Leibovitz? Scary and maybe suicidal for your career. I have always loved her photos and have rapidly checked out any photography books of hers I came across in the library (this was even before I had any interest in photography) I follow Tombo's blog and he had a link to the photographers blog who took her photo(s). I like the photo shown. He did a good job.

Flood and Pestilence. What next? Plague?
Home repairs are coming along. The master bathroom and dressing area have been stripped of their wallpaper and painted white. Gleaming white. All holes have been repaired and the baseboards replaced throughout the damaged portions of the house and the places that needed to be painted have been painted. We also have a new commode that is a beauty if you can find beauty in a toilet. Except the old one is sitting in the backyard making us look a little like white trash but the insurance company has to come get it for subrogation.
In a few weeks, the new carpet will be installed in all the bedrooms (paid for by the insurance company) and then we are buying wood floors for the living/dining rooms and family room. Hurray!!! Those rooms will be beautiful and we will be helping the economy by paying large sums of money for these floors. Sometime in April I hope to say that our house is done.
But now we have termites. We actually knew about possible termites in the sewing room before the flood but we received confirmation from an exterminator that we have them in the sewing room and Tom's office. He'll be doing his treatment next week which is another large expense but needs to be done before installing the wood flooring.
All other potential disasters, please pass up by.

Prescott Hearing
Tom has gone up to Prescott for a hearing It's going to be cold up there. Can't make much progress on flood issues while he's up there. We're debating installing laminate in the living room/dining room area. It will cost twice as much as new carpet, hence the debate.
My gift to myself
I have been saving since October for a new serger because mine is so difficult to thread. I hope to sew more clothes with this serger and that was part of my justification for buying it. This new serger is a babylock imagine that is supposed to be the most user friendly serger out there. It threads itself with a "whoosh" of air. Unfortunately, due to the flood, it has not even been plugged in yet. I hope to be able to locate all the parts to it as soon as we are back to normal.

And here is how we have been living since the flood.
Below shows the damaged carpet pulled back in the dressing area
Damaged books
Blowers and dehumidifers that went non-stop for four days
Remdiators spraying anti-microbial

The culprit... cracked toilet tank
Wet carpet
