Waiting for Santa, Christmas decorations and a gift

We don't use a formal Christmas tree in this house so I have two very small ones that I put lights and garland on and set them on the hearth of the fireplace along with all of our Christmas stockings. So here are Addie and Roscoe patiently awaiting Santa Paws

And here is a photo of some of the Christmas decorations. I don't have too many, but what I have is enough. I don't know where people store all this stuff! And yes, those are CDs and there are plenty more that you don't see. Tom likes music very much and has a very large and ecletic collection of music.

And here is a gift my brother (who is a hydrogeology professor in California) and sister-in-law gave to us. Actually, they gave us this vase and a pen/pencil holder that I did not photograph. This is really cool. What you are seeing are fossil gastropods formed between 15 million and 40 million years ago that were found in Pakistan and cut and polished by Pakistani craftsmen. I guess he gets these at a conference he attends and I think they are great and I was glad to be the recipient.
