Is it art or a bunch of junk?

You tell me...here are some pieces from the Art Institute of Chicago that were considered to be art. I don't get it and I'm not embarrassed to say so. I like and appreciate art and even took an art history course in college, but to me, this is not art:


A bunch of candy thrown in a corner in a pile....



A string of lights....



Cardboard painted gold with letters....




Seriously?


A pile of rocks....



Some patchwork squares lined up on the ground....
