And here is what it does:It's a fitness device that measures your activity level, measures your sleep, measures your caloric intake and some other neat stuff. The 91% in the screen shot above shows that I almost achieved my goal of an 8 hour sleep. It also tells me how long it took me to get to sleep, how long I was in deep sleep, how long I was in light sleep, how many times I woke up and how long I was awake. If it detects that it is about time for me to get up and I am in a light sleep, it will vibrate to wake me up. An amazing tool. After syncing today, I achieved 114% of my sleep goal.
It also is a pedometer and measures my steps taken throughout the day and will vibrate if I have been sitting idle for 30 minutes and need to get up and move. My goal was 10,000 steps and after syncing last night, I only met 50% of that goal. Need to work on that.
Then, it also helps me determine how much I am eating throughout the day. A woman my age should be taking in 1,600-2,000 calories a day. After inputting everything I ate yesterday, it showed I took in 1,240 calories. That is a little bit deceiving because it can't capture everything I had exactly right. Even though I was able to tell it I had frozen waffles for breakfast, I couldn't tell it that I also put margarine and jam on those waffles so that would have increased my calorie count. Or, maybe it does do that and I just have not figured it out yet.
I have seen reviews on it and most of them are positive. The biggest gripe seems to be that it does not sync automatically using bluetooth but that you have to plug it into your iPhone or iPad. That does not seem at all like a big deal to me. And the readout from the app and the photos of the food choices are all in glorious color. I am well pleased with this gift and think it will help me achieve a more healthy life style.
