Lightrail Redux

I took the light rail to work today and will take it back home tonight. It was pretty smooth sailing and got me to work in fairly good time. Right now, I have no complaints about it (other than what I mentioned in my previous post) but this guy sat behind me and talked to me the entire time about nothing but himself!!! Aarrgghh. Really and truly, I have never heard someone so full of themselves in my life! Hopefully, on the way back, I won't have to be subjected to that and can try and take more photos since I only took one. And, enjoy the ride.

My Friend's grand-dog

Gifts to others

Here are two purses I made for my mom and my new sister-in-law for Christmas. My mom had a thing for ladybugs awhile back and Anna has a thing for sunflowers so I found fabric and embroidery designs for both of them.

Christmas Eve Day

Today is the day before Christmas. All my shopping is done and I didn't go into a single mall. A couple of strip malls but no big malls. A Good Thing.

I will finish up my handmade gifts today and get everything wrapped. Tonight, my mom and I will go to Christmas Mass and then back to her house for a spaghetti dinner and mom & daughter companionship.

Normally, our Christmas is celebrated on Christmas Eve but my brother recently was married and he and his new bride won't be able to make it here from Los Angeles until very late tonight. So, we're starting a new tradition with the opening of the packages tomorrow after Christmas dinner.

Trying to stir up some traditions of my own; tomorrow morning I will make a Christmas breakfast. There won't be much since I don't cook but I'll have some fresh banana bread, sausage, maybe some Dunkin donuts and orange juice. Not even close to what my mom used to do but at least something.

WISHING EVERYONE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

The light rail sucks!

But I'm still going to try it out at least once to and from work. The reason I have lost my enthusiasm for it is because it has put my veterinarian out of business. He was absolutely the best vet in the whole world. The city is condemning his property in order for the light rail to go through. The tragic thing is that this portion of the light rail is going to lead to nowhere because the feds won't let it cross over I-17 to get to MetroCenter so it's just going to stop. Dead.

I took both dogs in on Saturday for the last time for a well dog visit and I was there for well over an hour. I'm going to miss that man. The vet and his assistant always comment on Roscoe's wild hair on the top of his head. I said I thought it looked like a surfer dude and Dr. Hirsch said Roscoe is a surfer dude because he is the most laid back and relaxed dog he has ever examined. He's like "whatever dude". Maybe Roscoe is a Hawaiian surfer dude because he grabbed a pineapple from the counter and ate a couple of chunks while we were gone. What kind of a dog eats a pineapple?

The Art of Re-Gifting

Rule #1:
At a white elephant exchange, don't attempt to re-gift with a gift the hostess of the exchange gave to you last Christmas. Kind of embarrassing and a major faux pas.

Another custom bag made

My housecleaner asked for a tote bag for her partner who she said like very feminine fabrics. I thought the fabrics I chose for this bag perfectly fit the bill.
